PROFILE: Tony Jordan
The DeKalb Area USBC would like to congratulate Tony Jordan
on bowling the association’s first back to back 300 games at
the Open Tournament.
Tony has rolled many 300 games but he no longer counts
them. He thinks it is somewhere between 25 and 35 but this is
the first time for back to back games and it was the third one
in 2 weeks. Tony stated that Bob Stracke, of Mardi Gras also
accomplished this feat in 1971 at Burr Oak Lanes in Blue
Island.
Tony started his bowing career when he was around 10 years
old. He was taught by his dad and Jim Stefanich, Hall of Fame,
PBA, & USBC member. He bowls about 3 times a week, between
practice and his regular Thursday league.
The local youth benefit greatly from Tony. He gives lessons
to about 10 to 15 kids who all speak very highly of him. When
asked about Tony they all say about the same things, he’s
extremely knowledgeable about the sport, he gives clear
instruction, he is patient, very precise and helps them to
understand and read lane conditions.
Tony has been married for 5 years to his wonderful wife,
Kristina, who is also a good bowler. They have 15 month old
twins, so Tony does lots of things in doubles. Pictured below
are Landin, in yellow and Griffin in red. They both are
already showing an interest in bowling. They may not have the
same form as dad, but they love to kneel down and give the
ball a push with some help, of course!
Tony would like to give a special thank you to Pete
Spreadbury for drilling his bowling equipment. Congratulations
Tony, great bowling!
